Islamic Terrorism Timeline

11/15/2006

- January 1, 1979: In Zimbabwe, a Swiss Roman Catholic missionary serving on the Selukwe rural African reservation was kidnapped by terrorists while he on his way to conduct New Year's mass. His bullet-riddled body was found two days later. He had disappeared five days after another Catholic missionary was assassinated in a remote outpost in the northeastern part of the country. In Zimbabwe, like in South Africa, Islam was taking root and so were its symptoms.

- January 1, 1979: In Portugal, Green Peace terrorists seriously damaged the whaler Sierra by ramming it with their ship called the Sea Shepherd. The leftist perpetrators were arrested but fled the country.

- January 8, 1979: In Vienna, Austria, two Muslim men attempted to assassinate Masmond Barzani, the son and successor of the Kurdish leader General Barzani. The victim had arrived in Austria for secret talks with Kurdish jihadists. The two gunmen opened fire on him in the stairway of an apartment building. Both the bodyguards were seriously wounded, but the assassins escaped in a waiting cab.

Barzani claimed that the attack was not conducted by rival Kurdish groups but was the responsibility of "the Iraqi secret service of the embassy, on Baghdad's orders.".

- January 12, 1979: In Tunisia, a Tunis-Air Boeing 707 carrying 75 passengers was hijacked and flown to Malta and then on toward Tripoli, Libya by four Islamic jihadists who demanded the release of two prominent Tunisian opposition politicians.

Libyan authorities said they were unaware the plane had been commandeered and told the hijackers that if they wanted to land and refuel, they would have to release their hostages. The hijackers then asked for the liberation of former Foreign Minister Mohammed (Muhammad) Masmoudi. After hours in the air, the plane landed in the Libyan capital and the 75 passengers were freed. The hijackers, armed with pistols and grenades, returned to Tripoli in the plane where they freed the crew members and surrendered.

- January 14, 1979: In Maalot, Israel, three Palestinian terrorists were killed in a Sabbath a raid on a hotel housing 230 civilians. A unit of Israeli soldiers intercepted the jihadists before they could capture any hostages. The Palestinian terrorists had crossed over from Lebanon through a border fence and carried letters demanding the release of other Palestinian terrorists held in Israeli jails. Their unused letters threatened to kill the hostages they failed to take unless their demands were met.

One Israeli woman was killed when she fell from a window as she tried to flee from the would be Muslim kidnappers. Five others wounded.

- January 14, 1979: In Iran, Martin Berkowitz, 53, of San Francisco, California, a former Air Force colonel working for the Parsons Company, an American construction firm, was stabbed to death in his kitchen in Kerman. The words "go back to your own country" were scrawled on the wall of his home. Berkowitz was the second American slain since anti-Shah riots began in early 1978.

- January 16, 1979: In Lebanon, six Lebanese Muslim terrorists armed with guns and grenades hijacked a Lebanese Middle East Airlines jet with 82 passengers and nine crew to protest the disappearance of their Islamic religious leader last August. After six hours of flying from Beirut to Amman, Jordan to Cyprus and back to Beirut, the gunmen surrendered.

The hijackers, however, were allowed to hold a press conference at the Beirut airport, during which they aired their grievances. The Islamic terrorists said they were followers of the Imam Musa Sadr, a Shiite Islamic cleric in Lebanon who disappeared mysteriously with two companions while on a visit to Libya in August of 1978. They felt that the government of Colonel Moamar Qadhafi was responsible for their spiritual leader's disappearance. It turns out, they were right.

The Shi'ite Islamic Imam Musa Sadr formed the terrorist association known as AMAL in 1975. Despite the founder's Iranian heritage, AMAL was conceived to increase the influence of Lebanon's Shi'ite Muslim population through the application of terror. In addition, the group was interested in establishing a theocratic Islamic state in place of Moamar Qadhafi's Sunni-leaning Marxist Muslim government.

AMAL, has a double meaning. While amal means "hope" in Arabic, AMAL is an acronym composed of "Afwaj al Muqawama al Lubnaniya," or "Lebanese Resistance Detachments.".

Musa Sadr (Sayyed Moussa as-Sadr), AMAL's founder, was born in Qum, Iran. He moved to Lebanon in 1960 when he took over a religious position in the town of Tyre. In 1974, as part of his clerical duties, Imam Musa Sadr formed the "Movement of the Deprived" to advance the political interests of the Shi'ites in Lebanon. Then, contemporaneous with the outbreak of Lebanon's civil war in 1975, Musa Sadr founded AMAL as the terrorist wing of his Movement of the Deprived.

AMAL would go on murder scores of religious rivals using the tactic of terrorism. The more they killed, the more popular "Hope" became, with an ever increasing number of Lebanese Shi'ites joining in to attack Sunnis. Amal's popularity soared following Israel's entry into Lebanon in 1978, when the Jewish nation had come to destroy the PLO's Lebanese base of operations. AMAL jihadists set their sectarian differences aside long enough to accompany Palestinians in southern Lebanon as they attacked Jews.

With the death of Musa Sadr in 1978, control of AMAL passed to Nabih Berri. While Musa Sadr was an Islamic clergyman, Nabih Berri was a secular politician. Consequently, Berri became more interested in the political goals of the Lebanese Shi'ites, and a little less interested in the creation of a theocratic Islamic state.

Nabih Berri was born in Sierra Leone, West Africa, where his parents had moved for economic opportunity like many Lebanese Shi'ites at the time. After returning to Lebanon, he studied law and quickly became a political activist. He served as an attorney for General Motors in Detroit between 1976 and 1978. Berri returned to Lebanon in 1978 when the opportunity arose to command Musa Sadr's Amal terrorist organization. Under Berri's leadership, AMAL fought against the PLO, against Druze forces, and eventually against Hizballah when they claimed his source of funding.

In 1992, Berri became Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, the highest political post for a Lebanese Shi'ite. Syrian-funded Amal gave Berri deep political connections with Damascus, causing Berri to be seen in Lebanon as a tool of the Syrians, implementing Syrian demands while extorting both the Syrian government and the Shi'ite community for financial gain.

Despite Berri's secularism, AMAL initially benefited from the 1978-1979 Iranian revolution. With an Islamic clerical regime empowered in Iran, from 1979 to 1982, the Shi'a terrorist group received substantial financial assistance from the OPECing mullahs. But Amal's time of basking in the crude would be short lived because in 1982, the Iranian theocracy founded their own terrorist club, Hizballah (Hezbollah) - Allah's Party. With Hizballah's founding, AMAL lost Iran's OPEC financial backing and withered away. By the time Syria picked up the slack in 1985, there was very little left of AMAL. Most of Amal's members abandoned the somewhat secular association to join the fundamentalist Hizballah.

The al-Sadr Brigades was formed after the mysterious disappearance of the Iranian/Lebanese Shiite spiritual leader Imam Musa al-Sadr during his visit to Libya in August of 1978. The al-Sadr Brigades was a companion terrorist group to Amal. Lebanese Shiites suspected that Libyan warlord and Sunni Muslim, Muammar al-Qaddafi had ordered al-Sadr's abduction and murder. Libya insists that the Islamic Imam boarded a plane to Rome following his arrival in Libya. However, Italian authorities found no evidence that he visited Rome.

Al-Sadr had gone to Libya to advance his desire to replace Qadhafi's Marxist Muslim dictatorship with a Shia clerical dictatorship. So while the OPEC warlord would have been correct in viewing the Islamic cleric as a foe, it is clear that Qaddafi underestimated the religious implications of abducting al-Sadr. The feud continued to boil for some time because Qadhafi heads an overwhelmingly Sunni fiefdom, while al-Sadr led a Shiite militia.

The al-Sadr Brigades' expressed aim was to secure Imam Musa al-Sadr's freedom. Using its contacts with affiliated and rival Shiite groups, such as Amal and Hizballah, al-Sadr Brigades sought to pressure Libya into at least disclosing the terrorist cleric's whereabouts.

To advance these goals, the al-Sadr Brigades threatened to assault Libyan diplomatic personnel in Lebanon and promised to attack the Libyan embassy in Beirut were it to reopen. Stewing for some time, in 1984, the al-Sadr Brigades finally orchestrated the kidnapping of a Libyan diplomat. With their victim in tow, they demanded the removal of all Libyan diplomatic personnel from Lebanon. After Libya complied, the diplomat was released. A similar attack occurred in 1988, when the Brigades kidnapped a Libyan intelligence agent.

Continued Shi'a anger over al-Sadr's fate caused Libya to cease diplomatic relations with Lebanon and Iran in 2000. In 2002, the al-Sadr Brigades confirmed its long suspected suspicions of Libyan involvement in the clerical assassination, when Iran confirmed that Imam Musa al-Sadr's death had come at the hands of Libyan agents.

- January 16, 1979: One million militant Muslim Iranians marched in Teheran in a show of support for the exiled Ayatollah Khomeini, a fundamental Islamic Shi'ite cleric. Seeing the situation as hopeless without American support, the Shah departed Iran.

- January 18, 1979: In Israel, a bomb exploded in a crowded open-air market in the Jewish sector of Jerusalem, injuring at least 21 Israelis. The bomb had been concealed in a fruit and vegetable display. The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) said in Beirut that "one of its underground units in Israel was responsible." The "underground PLO unit" was Abu Hassan's Fatah Special Operations Unit.

- January 22, 1979: In Lebanon, the Palestinian PLO/Black_September terrorist leader who planned the attack on the Israeli Olympic team in Munich in 1972 was fatally wounded in Beirut. Four of his bodyguards and five associates were also killed in the remote-controlled bomb blast. Eighteen others were injured.

WAFA, the Palestinian news agency, charged Israeli intelligence with responsibility for the death of 38-year old Ali Hassan Salameh, the security chief of the Al Fatah terrorist organization. Ali Hassan Salameh, better known as Abu Hassan, headed Israel's list of most-wanted list of terrorists. Hassan's Fatah Special Operations unit was especially fond of using bombs to blow up Jewish shoppers in crowded markets so it was good he got a taste of his own medicine.

At this time, Fatah, the PLO, and Black_September were one in the same.

- January 28, 1979: In Iran, a U.S. Air Force Major was shot and wounded while returning to his home in Tehran. The Iranian Muslim assailant fired two pistol shots which struck the Major in the arm and the back of the neck. The capture of the American Embassy should not have come as a surprise.

- January 29, 1979: In Israel, two Jews were killed, and 34 more were wounded, when a time bomb planted by Palestinian terrorists, exploded in a crowded business district in Netanya. The bomb, placed in a garbage can near a shopping center filled with Jewish women, exploded at the peak of the mid-morning rush.

Believing that terrorism was good, the PLO claimed responsibility for the mass murder and mutilation of Jewish women. WAFA reported that the bomb had been planted by members of the Palestinian commando unit headed by Abu Hassan, the slain Palestinian PLO/Fatah/Black_September leader. In the PLO press release, Yasser Arafat lied: "As long as Israel continues to occupy a foreign country it will have to expect resistance from oppressed people." The opposite was true, but truth had never been as popular as terrorism in places poisoned by Islam.

Israel had been the Jewish homeland since the exodus from Egypt in the 15th century BCE. Judea was not conquered by Arab Muslims until the 7th century CE - 2200 years later. And while the Islamic assault didn't entitle Muslims to the Promised Land, there were as many Jews as Arabs in Judea until Islam's patriarch of terror, the Palestinian Mufti Muhammad Hajj Amin al-Husayni (Huseini) made living there a living hell. But when the Jews were given their homeland back following the holocaust (the mass murder of six-million Jews that was in large part inspired by the Mufti Muhammad Husayni), they treated the Muslims who had tormented them better than any other Islamic country treated their people. Prior to the PLO/Fatah-based campaign of terror against Jews, Muslims living in Israel were by far the most free, best educated, and most prosperous Muslims in the world. They were the opposite of an "oppressed people" before Arafat made them that way.

Since the PLO is adept at propaganda, and since America's politicians and media have swallowed it whole, let's take a moment and examine the history and nature of the organization responsible for robbing its people of their freedom, prosperity, education, and hope.

The Palestinian Liberation Organization, known by the acronym PLO, is one of the world's most successful political, religious, and paramilitary terrorist enterprises. It was conceived at a Cairo Summit by the Arab League at the behest of Egyptian President Nasser in 1964. The Palestinian Liberation Organization first convened in Jerusalem on May 29th, 1964.

On June 2nd the PLO announced: "The right of the Palestinian Arab people to its sacred homeland Palestine and affirming the inevitability of the battle to liberate the usurped part from it, and its determination to bring out its effective revolutionary entity and the mobilization of the capabilities and potentialities and its material, military and spiritual forces." It was a declaration of holy war.

The Palestinian Liberation Organization's charter called for the destruction of the Jewish state of Israel, calling it "illegal." Their means would be the constant application of terror. The PLO was and remains committed to replacing the Israeli community with an Islamic nation called Palestine.

The PLO and its member groups are controlled, funded, and equipped by the Islamic governments of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Kuwait, and Iraq and by America and Europe. The Palestinian Liberation Organization is by far the richest terrorist club on earth with nearly $10 billion in assets. According to the United Kingdom's National Criminal Intelligence Service, "the PLO has an annual income of $2 billion from charitable Islamic donations, OPEC funding, American and European Union Aid, extortion, payoffs, illegal arms dealing, drug trafficking, money laundering, and fraud." Before his death, the Economist confirmed that Yasser Arafat alone had personally confiscated $900 million. The Daily Telegraph reported in 1999 that the Palestinian Liberation Organization had $50 billion invested around the world. In the PLO, OPEC and Islam coalesced into a terrorist machine of considerable prowess.

An International Monetary Fund report titled "Economic Performance and Reforms under Conflict Conditions," stated that Arafat had diverted $900 million of public P.A. funds into his own private accounts from 1995 to 2000. During this time this thief was the most frequent international guest to the Clinton White House. And a considerable portion of the money he stole came from American taxpayers. The U.S., however, did not stop or even diminish its aid to the Palestinian Authority despite the massive fraud.

The PLO has become a conglomerate composed of many Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic political and religious groups and terrorist organizations. According to its founder, "The PLO's goal is to drive the Jews into the sea." Their vision of "Palestine" is an exclusive Arab/Muslim enclave that includes all of present-day Israel from Galilee, the Jordan River, and the Dead Sea to the Mediterranean, from the Sinai to Lebanon. Today, the PLO is indistinguishable from the political party Fatah, the governmental entity known as the Palestinian Authority, the secret police unit Force 17, the PFLP, and the terrorist group al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades. The five organizations share common leadership, members, and ambitions.

Ahmad Shukeiri was the PLO's first Chairman, reigning from 1964 through 1967. He was born in Lebanon to a Turkish mother and became the Syrian delegate to the United Nations in the late 1940s, unraveling the myth of being a "Palestinian." Shukeiri was Secretary General for the Arab League from 1950 to 1956, and Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the United Nations from 1957 to 1962 - which means Shukeiri had to share the Saud's Wahhabi/Salafi fundamentalist interpretation of Islam.

On May 28, 1964, Ahmad Shukeiri nominated representatives from Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza (which was part of Egypt), Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq to attend his "Palestinian" Conference in East Jerusalem. His attendees all wore badges, similar to the PLO logo today, that showed all of Israel under their control along with a mission statement which read: "We Shall Return." The reason for return, rather than stay was emblazoned on their badges was that in 1948 the Secretary General for the Arab League had told the Muslims living in what had become the state of Israel, to leave the land so that Islamic Arab armies could sweep in and slaughter Jews more efficiently and effectively.

The introductory address at Ahmad Shukeiri's "Jordanian, Syrian, Lebanese, Egyptian, Kuwaiti, Saudi Arabian, Iraqi, and Turkish" Liberation Organization gala was made by King Hussein of Jordan - the man responsible for killing more "Palestinians" than anyone on earth. In his foundational speech, Shukeiri lied, telling delegates that the "Palestinians had experienced 16 years of misery and it was time they relied on themselves and liberated Palestine from the Israelis." The reason I said he lied was because at the time he spoke those words the so-called "Palestinian people" were the most free, best educated, and most prosperous Muslims on the planet. Integrated into the free society of Israel and isolated from the oppressiveness of Islam, they had thrived. But thanks to the Palestinian Liberation Organization, that relative success would soon be a fleeting memory.

Following the Six Day War in 1967, the Islamic states which had created the PLO lost much of their legitimacy. Having failed at war, they turned to terror. Yasser Arafat, one of the five founders of the terrorist organization and political party al-Fatah (the Victorious Conquest), took advantage of the resulting power vacuum and became Chairman of the PLO in 1969. (That story is chronicled in the Islamic Clubs' account of Fatah and is worth reading.).

Since Yasser Arafat remained in control of Fatah, the two organizations essentially merged. In the years which followed the PLO also absorbed the Palestine Liberation Front, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the Palestinian Democratic Union, the Palestinian People's Party, the Hawari Group, the Abu Abbas Faction, the Arab Liberation Front, the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front, the Palestinian Arab Front, Force 17, Black_September, and the Palestinian Authority. Collectively, the combined enterprise became very adept at killing Americans and Jews, with Robert Kennedy becoming their most famous victim.

As detailed in its charter, the PLO was founded to destroy the Israeli state and to kill as many Jews as possible in the process. While there are those who say that the PLO has significantly altered its rhetoric and goals, all evidence is to the contrary. Facilitating an appreciation of this harsh reality is one of the many purposes of the Islamic Terrorism Timeline.

There are those who claim that the PLO amended their Charter in 1988 to accommodate the "land for peace" process touted by America, but that is not accurate. A committee without authority recommended an alteration so that the PLO would continue to receive American and European aid, but the amendment was never voted upon and the Charter itself remains unchanged. And frankly, the words on the page would be meaningless to the Islamic community and would have no effect on terror.

In the guise of the Palestinian Authority, the PLO in its addresses to English-speaking audiences has on occasion postured the notion that Israel has the right to exist so long as an independent Palestinian state is carved out of her territory. But that too is merely a ploy. The PLO's strategy, confirmed by Yasser Arafat's own admission, was based upon Muhammad's example at Hudaybiyah. There, over 1,300 years ago, Muhammad who at the time possessed insufficient arms to conquer his hometown of Mecca, promised to stop terrorizing his kin for ten years so long as the Meccans would allow him to visit Allah's rock pile of idols known as the Ka'aba. The merchants of Mecca honored the agreement but the Muslims violated the treaty a dozen times in the first 12 months according to their own witness. Then, at the end of the year, once the Meccans had been lulled into a false sense of security, Muhammad and the first Muslims roared into town with an army more than twice the size of the Meccan population and conquered the place, imposing Islam under the shade of their blood-drenched swords.

But since Muhammad was supposed to be Allah's Messenger, and thus a man of his word, Islam's lone prophet revealed a situational scripture in the 9th surah of the Qur'an. It states that any treaty between Muslims and Infidels is not binding on the Muslims. If you are not familiar with this treaty, or the concept of the "legal lie" in Islam, please read "The Tormented Terrorist," "Blood & Booty," and "Legacy of Terror" chapters of Prophet of Doom - Islam's Terrorist Dogma in Muhammad's Own Words. Until you possess an appreciation of the fact that deception is not only permissible in Islam, but essential to the religion, you should not engage in any discussion relative to thwarting Islamic terrorism.

By way of example, when Yasser Arafat stood with Yitzhak Rabin in 1993 at the conclusion of Bill Clinton's Oslo Accords and said that he conditionally recognized Israel's right to exist and promised to stop terrorizing Jews for Israeli concessions, including control over autonomous regions and access to considerable funding, several things occurred. The Jews honored the agreement and the Muslims did not. In his next speech in Arabic, Arafat told his Muslim audience that he had signed the agreement with the Infidels in the spirit of Hudaybiyah. The politicians and media yawned and innocent people started to die in unprecedented numbers. It was just like American's failed "War On Terror," which served to geometrically increase terrorism rather than reduce it.

Article 18 of the Palestinian Liberation Organization Covenant reads: "The claims of historic and spiritual ties between Jews and Palestine are not in agreement with the facts of history or with the true basis of sound statehood.... The Jews are not one people with an independent personality because they are citizens to their states." What they were saying was that since the Qur'an was incompatible with the historical record and with rational spiritual revelation (i.e., the Bible), history and scripture were wrong. The basis of statehood in their mind was the anti-Semitic religion of Islam, or Submission in Arabic.

More to the point, by denying the Jewish historical and spiritual links to the land, the Palestinian Liberation Organization was staking their claim. In his opening remarks at the PLO's convening summit, the first chairman announced: "the PLO is to the official representative of the Palestinian people.".

What was also interesting in this initial maneuvering is that the founders of the PLO, who represented Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, didn't see fit to give the "Palestinians" any of their land. And yet they had all gained control over it the same way the Jews had - by way of allocations from Britain following the defeat of the murderous abomination of the Islamic Ottoman Empire in World War I.

Israel represented less than 0.2% of the Middle Eastern territory controlled by the surrounding Islamic nations. It is no richer or better, and because it is insignificant in size, the motivations behind the PLO's agenda had to be other than the "liberation" of this tiny swath of rocky and barren earth.

What's also telling in this regard was that at their initial meeting, the PLO stated: "This Organization does not exercise any territorial sovereignty over the West Bank in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on the Gaza Strip (governed by Egypt), or on the Himmah Area (controlled by Syria)." Remember, this was prior to the Six Day War so the PLO's sponsors controlled the territory upon which the overwhelming preponderance of "Palestinians" lived. Therefore, the PLO and its sponsors wanted what belonged to the Jews, nothing more, nothing less. With this in mind, those who promote the idiotic proposition of Israel trading land (which it has too little of and Islam has too much of) to Muslims for peace (which Islam has never known) are morally, judgmentally, and intellectually handicapped.

What is ironic regarding the PLO's assertion that "a Palestinian state must be established on the historic lands of Palestine" is that the last of the "Palestinians," a name derived from the Philistines of Gaza, were annihilated by the Assyrians and Babylonians (from today's Iran and Iraq) in the seventh century BCE. So there are no "Palestinians," and there haven't been any for 2,600 years. To refer to people as "Palestinians" simply perpetuates a purposely deceptive marketing myth. Prior to 1948, the Muslims who lived in Israel called themselves Muslims, Arabs, Egyptians, Syrians, and Jordanians. But now, by calling themselves "Palestinians," and the land "Palestine," those who are ignorant of history can be compelled to believe that the place is theirs and that the Jews must have stolen it from them.

There is no "historic land of Palestine" either. The oldest name for the region is Canaan, and that name is only found in the Torah. If you want to use it, then you'd be wise to see what else Yahweh's revelation has to say about this place. But that aside, the Canaanites no longer exist as a people. Nor do the Hittites or Phoenicians who also occupied portions of today's Israel. The land became known as Judea and as Israel following the Exodus in 16th century BCE - 3,600 years ago. The place at the crossroads of civilizations continued to be known as Judea (actually Yahuwdah (meaning "belongs to Yah"), named after one of Ya'aqob's sons, who in turned was named after and Abraham's God: Yahweh) and Israel (actually, Yisra'el, meaning "those who live with and are empowered by God) for 1,700 years. With the exception of a couple of forced "time outs" in Assyria and Babylon due to bad behavior, Jews (actually Yahuwdym, meaning "those who are related to and belong to Yah, or Yahweh") called this land home.

But then in the second century CE, a very bad man, the founder of the Jewish religion, Rabbi Akiba, annulled the Torah and established a new religious and political order based upon the decrees of "enlightened men" called "rabbis," meaning "those who are exalted." In 133 CE, Rabbi Akiba, in his lust for power, doomed the Jewish people and put the pieces in place that led to the Holocaust and to the PLO. He, knowing that it was a Yowbel or Jubilee Year, announced the arrival of the Messiah, a revolting warlord known as Bar Kokhba. Together they led a revolt against Rome that caused the Romans in 135 CE to change the name of the land from Judea to Palestina. In the process the Romans killed a million Jews and expelled all remaining Yahuwdym from the land, enslaving most of them. This created the Diaspora. To add insult to injury, the Romans salted Judea as they had Carthage so that no one would be able to live in the Promised Land for centuries. Therefore, no Akiba, no Diaspora. No Diaspora, no Holocaust. No Akiba, no Rabbinical Judaism, Oral Law, or Talmud. No Rabbinical Judaism, Oral Law, or Talmud, no Islam as the Qur'an was a twisted variant of them. No Akiba, no Palestine. No Palestine, no PLO.

The history of the Palestinian Liberation Organization is intertwined with that of Yasser Arafat and al-Fatah. For a greater understanding of terror's richest and most effective killing machine, you'll want to pay close attention to them as we move through time.

While the Muslim Brotherhood gave birth to terrorist organizations like the PLO and Fatah, like HAMAS and al-Qaeda, it's appropriate that the Islamic Terror Timeline opens with the founding of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. The PLO and its allied franchises were responsible for the successful exportation of Islamic terrorism, serving as role models to aspiring jihadists. The PLO was the first terrorist association to successfully target Jews since Muhammad and the first Muslims had annihilated them in Saudi Arabia. And the PLO was the first Islamic enterprise to effectively attack Americans. As a result, the PLO became the cause celeb of the Islamic world and the genesis of the Islamic Terror Timeline.

Their first successful attack was the bombing of an Israeli school bus on March 18, 1968. Their last attack will occur during the Magog War - just over twenty years into our future.

Without American and Islamic OPEC support, the PLO and its derivatives would have died an ugly death a very long time ago. But their reign of terror continues because of deceptive public declarations, like the one given on Wednesday evening, October 11th, 2006. George Bush's Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, said: "Palestinians deserve to live better than they do, and to be free of the humiliation of occupation in a state of their own." She was therefore saying that Palestinian Muslims were the victims of humiliating oppression and terror rather than the oppressors and terrorists - the opposite of what is actually true. She was also fabricating history. Before the PLO intifada against Israel, back when Muslims were integrated into the Israeli society, the "Palestinian people" were the most free, least oppressed, least victimized, best educated, and most prosperous Muslims in the world. But after their violent terrorist uprising, the Palestinians who were now separated from Israel became as indoctrinated, oppressed, humiliated, impoverished, hatful, and violent as all of the other Muslims who surround Israel's oasis of relative civility.

But worse than all of her revisionism and deceit, there is the moral issue. To say that the "Palestinians deserve...a state of their own" is to say that terrorism is a valid and justified political strategy. The Palestinians are second only to the Pakistanis in the application of terror. And the only moral response to terror is rebuke, not reward.

America's second most prolific and deadly liar went on to tell the audience of Palestinians: "I promise you my personal commitment to that goal." At the dinner marking the third anniversary of the American Task Force on Palestine, Rice preached: "There could be no greater legacy for America." The following day, George Bush endorsed Secretary Rice's dream. As a result, the legacy of looting Israel, of thinning the nation at its waist, of giving her land to her enemy, was vividly portrayed by the prophet Isaiah. He said that such a nation will be pruned back and that its cities would be laid waste.

- January 29, 1979: In Turkey, a high-powered explosive device was thrown into the Turkish-British Cultural Center in Ankara.

- February 1, 1979: Fundamentalist Islamic cleric Ayatollah Khomeini returned from exile in France and called for Muslims to riot in support of an Islamic theocratic state.

- February 4, 1979: Islamic Revolution in Iran officially began, ending in the indoctrination and oppression of the Iranian people.

- February 13, 1979: In Egypt, a bomb exploded in the Cairo Sheraton Hotel injuring seven people. Authorities arrested several "Palestinians and Jordanians" who were in the hotel when the bomb went off. The terrorist group known as Al-Sa'iqa was responsible.

Al-Saiqa (meaning the Storm or Thunderbolt) was a Marxist Muslim Palestinian terror club founded in 1966 by Syrian Ba'athists. Al-Saiqa served as a pan-Arab, pan-Islamic, Syrian-backed movement within the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). Like most Palestinian terrorist organizations, al-Saiqa's goal was to destroy Israel and establish an Arab/Islamic/Communist state in its place.

Due to its close ties with the dictatorial and ruthless Syrian regime, Al-Saiqa was originally commanded by Syrian General Salah Jadid, a chief rival of Syrian dictator Hafez al-Asad. When Asad seized power in 1970, he promptly replaced al-Saiqa's leadership with his supporters, placing al-Saiqa firmly under the control of the Syrian army. Despite its supposed commitment to the Palestinian cause, it has consistently supported Syrians at the expense of Palestinians.

Al-Saiqa is no longer active within the Palestinian terrorist movement because it was not sufficiently Islamic to survive the rising tide of Islamic fundamentalism that has swept through Asia, the Middle East, and Africa over that past decade. The best Jihadists now belong to HAMAS, Islamic Jihad, Hizballah, and groups like al-Qaeda.

- February 14, 1979: In Iran, 200 armed Shia terrorists, mostly Islamic students, attacked the U.S. Embassy. They held U.S. Ambassador William H. Sullivan and 101 members of the embassy staff hostage for more than two hours.

The assault began at 10:15 am when the young Islamic jihadists opened fire with heavy machineguns from the roof of a hotel and other buildings in the area. Other Muslim youths then pinned down the 19 marine guards while others scaled the walls and embassy gates from three sides and fired at the chancery. During the attack one embassy employee was killed and five were wounded.

The siege ended when mujahideen loyal to the new government of Ayatollah Khomeini engaged the younger jihadists and eventually placed the U.S. Embassy under control of the mullah's militia.

- February 14, 1979: Four Afghan Muslims kidnapped U.S. Ambassador Adolph Dubs in Kabul and demanded the release of various "Islamic religious figures." Dubs was killed, along with four terrorists, when Afghan police stormed the hotel room where he was being held. The Muslim gang which perpetrated the attack was Fascist, Sunni, and Pakistani, things that created a rift between them and the pro-Soviet Marxist Muslim regime in control of Afghanistan at the time.

It was uncertain whether Mr. Dubs was killed by his abductors, as they had threatened, or was shot when government forces rushed into the hotel and opened fire. According to American Embassy sources, the Marxist Muslim gunmen assaulted the building in spite of a warning from the American Embassy in Kabul not to attack the hotel or open fire on the abductors while efforts were being made to obtain the Ambassador's release.

After the shooting, Mr. Dubs was found dead of gunshot wounds in the head and heart. Three of the Fascist Muslims were killed in the shootout, and one was captured. The kidnappers were believed to be seeking the release of three recently imprisoned Islamic religious leaders and the Americans were just pawns in a Shia-Sunni dispute.

Ignoring the Islamic connection, Deputy Secretary of State Warren Christopher expressed shock at the Soviet Union's actions because he alleged that they were somehow involved in advising police officers in Kabul. Rather than blame Islam, or even (pre-Taliban) Afghanistan, America blamed the Soviets for their failure to heed the U.S. requests that the assault not be undertaken.

The Afghan government claimed that "it was a regrettable but unavoidable response to terrorists." The smokescreen laid by the United States left many unanswered questions: the number and identify of the Islamic abductors, the specific affiliation and motives of the kidnappers, and why the .22 caliber pistol which had fired the shots which killed the Ambassador was missing from the crime scene.

The gamesmanship America played in their first assault on Afghanistan was nearly as immoral and ill-fated as the second. The initial Carter pro-al-Qaeda attack is detailed in the December 26, 1979 timeline entry and the second Bush invasion is chronicled in the "Pipeline to 9/11" supplement to the Islamic Terrorism Timeline. If you are a patriotic American, you will be horrified by what you discover.

- February 19, 1979: In Turkey, a bomb, thrown from a passing car exploded outside the Pan Am office in Izmir.

- February 20, 1979: In Turkey, the car of a U.S. serviceman working for NATO in Izmir was firebombed.

- February 27, 1979: A bomb in a book mailed to a Roman Catholic priest who had written for a Croatian-language newspaper exploded outside a parochial elementary school, injuring a police detective who was trying to remove it. The Reverend Timothy Majic said the bomb might have been linked to his work as editor of the Morning Star (the Biblical name for Satan), a Catholic Croatian-language newspaper published in Chicago. He said he had written many anti-Communist editorials and stories since he came to the United States in l951. The Morning Star took the political position of "pleading for a free Croatia," which was then part of Yugoslavia.

Since the Catholics got the Croat state they wanted, since that state is an outgrowth of the Ustashi movement, since the Ustashi Croats are Roman Catholic Fascists, since these Croats murdered 800,000 Orthodox Christian Serbs and Jews in partnership with Muslim SS troops, and since America and NATO came to the aid of the new Croatian Ustashis and their allies, the Bosnian Muslims, during the Clinton administration, I'd like you to consider the nature of the people the Roman Catholic priest and his Morning Star Luciferian newspaper were advocating on behalf of.

The Croatian Ustashi has a long and ugly past - one of the most reprehensible and repulsive in human history. And it is one that torments us today. It begins in the aftermath of Hitler's attack on the Soviet Union in June 1941. Croatia declared war on the USSR and sent an Army division to fight alongside the Nazis on the Eastern Front. After the Japanese Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941, Croatia declared war on the United States.

Beginning on June 12th, 1941, a deal brokered and promoted by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Muhammad Amin al-Husayni (Husseini), a Palestinian Muslim cleric, political leader, and General in Hitler's SS, and the Nazis on behalf of the Ustashi, restricted the movement of all Jews and Serbs in Croatia. It was then that the mass killings began. With the Grand Mufti's help, during the four years between 1941 and 1945 the independent State of Croatia executed over 800,000 Orthodox Christian Serbs and Jews in its territory. Most all of the killings were orchestrated by the Ustashi - who were Roman Catholic fascists in league with Islam.

The genocide in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina was accompanied by ritualistic beheadings in public places replete with sadistic and unbridled celebrations. Thousands of Serbs and Jews were hurled from mountain tops while others were beaten to death with clubs. Entire villages were burned to the ground. Women were raped, including little girls, and men and boys were sent on long death marches in the middle of winter. And while that is horrid, it's not the end of the story. The devoutly religious Ustashi leader, Dr. Ante Pavelic, called the Croatian Fuehrer, or Poglavnik, is lauded today as a hero. His picture adorns the T-shirts of a new generation of Croatian Ustashi terrorists. The anti-Serbian state that America and NATO helped establish in the 1990s deploys the Ustashi flag, symbols, slogans, and uniforms.

The marriage of Catholicism, Islam, and Nazi-style Fascism is on the surface a strange one. The Encyclopedia of the Holocaust, under the entry Muhammad Husseini - Hitler's Supporter writes: "It so happened that Husseini made his contribution to the Axis war effort in his capacity as a Muslim, rather than as an Arab leader. He did so by recruiting and organizing in record time, during the spring of 1943, Bosnian Muslim Battalions in Croatia comprising some twenty-thousand men, These Islamic volunteer units, called Hanjar (Sword), were put in Waffen SS uniforms and they fought Yugoslav partisans in Bosnia. They also carried out police and security duties in Hungary. They participated in the massacre of civilians in Bosnia and volunteered to join in the hunt for Jews in Croatia. The Germans made a point of publicizing the fact that Husseini had flown from Berlin to Sarajevo for the sole purpose of giving his blessing to the Muslim Nazi SS Army and inspecting its arms and training exercises.".

The Catholic/Muslim Ustashi murdered and tortured Jews and Serbs in indescribably bestial fashion. One of the most notorious concentration camps in Hitler's Europe, Jasenovac, was in Croatia. Here Ustashi Catholics and Muslims used primitive implements in putting their victims to death - knives, axes, hammers and other iron tools. A common practice was binding pairs of prisoners back to back, and then throwing them into the Sava River. Crowds of Jewish children were burned alive in old brick ovens, which were later transformed into crematories. Croat and German sources estimate that 770,000 Orthodox Christian Serbs, 60,000 Jews, and 25,000 Gypsies were murdered in the reign of horror - the worst genocide during World War II in proportion to a nation's population.

Nonpartisan sources confirm that the mass genocide of Orthodox Christians and Jews was endorsed by the Catholic Church in addition to the Islamic Grand Mufti. Pavelic's Ustashi was officially welcomed by the Catholic hierarchy through Archbishop Alojzije Stepinac. Stepinac was the head of the Council of Bishops in Yugoslavia and also the military apostolic vicar of the Ustashi army. Pope Pius XII not only bestowed his paternal protection upon Pavelic and the new Croatian state but allied the Roman Catholic church with Italian, Spanish, and German fascism. When World War II ended and the Roman Catholic Church's allies were defeated, Pavelic, who had sponsored the murder of 850,000 people, hid at the Vatican before going to Argentina.

Vjekoslav Luburic, commander-in-chef of all the Ustashi Croatian death camps, announced the great efficiency of this slaughterhouse at a ceremony and banquet, by reporting with pride: "We have slaughtered here at Jasenovac more people than the Ottoman Empire was able to do during its occupation of Europe." Ah, but the Ottoman's were still helping. They were the reason so many Croatian Muslims had signed up to assist the holocaust.

A high-ranking Croat state official and Ustashi leader, Mile Budak, declared in Gospic on July 22, 1941: "We shall slay one third of the Serbian population, drive away another third, and the rest we shall convert to the Roman Catholic faith and thus assimilate them into becoming Croats. Thus we will destroy every trace of theirs, and all that which will be left, will be an evil memory of them.".

While the victims of the Ustashi are portrayed as the villains in the Balkans, the truth remains that Serbian farmers have owned and cultivated this land and have lived in the Krajina for over 400 years. Yet the New York Times, in support of their president, called these Serbs "rebels," thus lending legitimacy to the continuing nightmare. The Times' caption under pictures of Serbian refugees being stoned as they fled the neo-Ustashi offensive read: "Thousands of Serbs have been displaced in the Croatian offensive that recaptured three-quarters of a territory seized by Serbian forces in 1991." (The New York Times, August 10, 1995) It was not true.

Today, Muslims and Catholic Croats are once again united. Their only common goal is to slaughter and expel the remaining Orthodox Christian Serbs and Jews. But this time it is different, the ethnic cleansing is being done with the direct aid and support of the United States.

The Ustashi flag flies in front of the United Nations. It flies in Jasenovac above the mass graves of 700,000 victims. And on May 1st, 1995, the Croatian army carrying the Ustasha flag, broke through the UN lines with the knowledge and support of Washington. They flooded into the so called "United Nations Protected Zone - West." The Serbs, who had been ordered by the international community to disarm had put down their weapons under UN supervision just days before. Now they were ripe for the slaughter. Ustashi tanks drove over civilians. Women and children were machine-gunned. A few thousand more were murdered in cold blood at pointblank range. All the while, the media praised the "liberation" of Croatia from those reprehensible Christians.

Diana Johnstone, an independent journalist who has written extensively on the conflict in the Balkans writes: "To his own countrymen, Izetbegovic has made his beliefs clear, that once a country has a Muslim majority, it should be ruled according to Islamic law. Islam, he insists, rejects the Western secular division between religion and political power. In Bosnia, demographic trends have recently caused the Muslim population to exceed that of the Serbs and might soon constitute an absolute majority. The prospect of having to live as a minority in an Islamic state was unacceptable to the Serbs, who as Christians had for centuries been reduced to serf status under the Islamic Ottoman Empire, which accorded all social, economic and political privileges to Muslims.".

The new Croatian regime mirrors the Ustashi of old, right down to its Fascist, pro-Nazi roots and Islamic alliances. With each passing day there were more ominous signs that the country had been reawakened to its evil past by the Saudis and Iranians, by the Vatican and Washington. The Fascist's brief socialist slumber is now little more than a faded memory.

The British Telegraph's Robert Fox reported in 1993 that the old Muslim Sword SS Division had been reformed. Speaking of their reincarnation, he said: "These are the men of the Handzar [Muslim Nazi SS Sword] Division. ‘We do everything with the knife, and we always fight on the frontline,' a Handzar told one U.N. officer. Up to 6000 strong, the reconstituted Handzar Division glories in its fascist culture. They see themselves as the heirs of the SS Handzar Division, formed by Bosnian Muslims in 1943 to fight for the Nazis. Their spiritual model was Mohammed Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem who sided with Hitler. According to the U.N. officials, ‘many of them are Albanian, whether from Kosovo...or from Albania itself.' They are trained and led by veterans from Afghanistan and Pakistan, say U.N. sources. Their first political act as a reconstituted militia was the murder of the two monks in a local monastery. As was the case in the Ustashi Croatia of Hitler's era, the police guard mysteriously disappeared a few minutes before the strike.".

As with Bosnia's reborn Handzar Division, in Croatia Serb-cleansing found an aspiring Albanian volunteer, Agim Ceku. This Serb-hunting enthusiast high-tailed it to Croatia and became a colonel in the Croat army. He led Croatian troops in the 1993 offensive on Medak Pocket, where Serbs had been concentrated. Canadian journalist Scott Taylor wrote: "It was here that the men of the 2nd Battalion of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry came face to face with the savagery of which Agim Ceku was capable. Over 200 Serbian inhabitants of the Medak Pocket were slaughtered in a grotesque manner (the bodies of female rape victims were found after being burned alive). Our traumatized troops who buried the grisly remains were encouraged to collect evidence and were assured that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.".

Nevertheless in 1995, Ceku, by then trained by U.S. instructors as a general of artillery, was still at large. In fact, he was the officer responsible for shelling the Serbian refugee columns and for targeting the UN-declared "safe" city of Knin during the Croatian offensive known as Operation Storm - which even the New York Times called "the largest single ethnic cleansing event of the war." Some 500 innocent Serbian civilians perished in those merciless barrages. Senior Canadian officers who witnessed the slaughter demanded that Ceku be indicted, but their pleas fell of deaf ears.

Today, the mass murdering Ceku is the Prime Minister of Kosovo. He enjoyed a warm reception from Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice when the two met over the summer to discuss how best to speed along independence for the Serbian province this war criminal governs, bereft of the rule of law and beholden to Islamic terrorists. As evidence, the "bin Laden Mosque," built in 2001 (aptly enough), stands tall in Kosovo, where Bill Clinton murals and Wesley Clark Streets are almost as prevalent as bin Laden keychains.

In 1995, the London Evening Standard's Edward Pearce wrote: "you can understand Croatia best by saying flatly that if there is one place in the world where a statue of Adolph Hitler would be revered, it would be in Zagreb.".

In 1998, New York Times columnist A.M. Rosenthal wrote: "In World War II, Hitler had no executioners more willing, no ally more passionate, than the fascists of Croatia. They are returning, 50 years later, from what should have been their eternal grave, the defeat of Nazi Germany. The Western Allies who dug that grave with the bodies of their servicemen had the power to stop them, but did not." On the contrary, America happily assisted them, bombing the Serbian Christians the Croatian Ustashi had slaughtered en masse.

In 2000, The Washington Post reported: "It was not unusual to see such chilling graffiti as: ‘We Croats do not drink wine, we drink the blood of Serbs from Knin,'...the capital of the Krajina region of Croatia where hundreds of thousands of Serbs were ethnically cleansed in 1995 by troops commanded by General Gotovina.".

In her latest book Nazi Nostalgia in Croatia, Balkans expert Diana Johnstone wrote: "When I visited Croatia three years ago, the book most prominently displayed in the leading bookstores of the capital city Zagreb was a new edition of the notorious anti-Semitic classic [actually fraud], The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Next came the memoirs of the World War II Croatian fascist Ustashe dictator Ante Pavelic, who was responsible for the organized genocide of Serbs, Jews and Romany gypsies that began in 1941, well before the German Nazi ‘final solution.'" Mired in a horrid past, in Zagreb today visiting Germans are often embarrassed when Croats enthusiastically welcome them with a raised arm and a Nazi "Heil!".

- February 28, 1979: In Israel, a bomb exploded in Jerusalem's Mahane Yehuda open-air market wounding six Jews. The Palestine news agency WAFA reported that Palestinian terrorists associated with the PLO had claimed responsibility for the assault. Fatah's bomb was wrapped in a plastic bag and placed in an alley outside a butcher shop.

- March 1, 1979: Islam and Catholicism aren't the only religions inspiring terrorism. The religion of man, known as Communism or Socialist Secular Humanism, has killed more people over the last 100 years than all other religions combined.

Today in Norway, four morons claiming to be members of the Mediation Group, hijacked a Soviet jetliner on a flight from Oslo, Norway, to Moscow. These lost souls were equal part New Age Hindus and Self-serving Secular Humanists. Not knowing if they were coming or going, they surrendered to police after a scheduled landing in Stockholm.

The New Age terrorists said that their action was an attempt to focus world attention on conditions in India, Russia, and Australia. The multicultural gang was composed of a Swede, a West German woman, an Indian man, and a Brazilian woman. According to them, the Meditation Group was part of the Ananda Marga sect.

The Ananda Marga Yoga Society was a Hindu-based multicultural humanist religious movement founded in India in 1955 by Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar. They practiced a contemporary form of Tantric Yoga and dedicated themselves to "self-realization and humanity." Their religion simply replaced God with man.

A component of Ananda Marga was Sarkar's doctrine of Progressive Utilization Theory which dealt with ending social and economic injustice in the world through socialism and multiculturalism. This theory led the group to oppose, often violently, traditional schools of Indian thought and the Indian caste system.

Ananda Marga was held responsible for a number of terrorist attacks in the 1970s. The vast majority of these attacks were against Indian diplomatic and business targets abroad, most often in Australia, where the group had many followers. Some attacks were also claimed in the name of opposing the Soviet Union, and Ananda Marga members were arrested with maps of the U.S. Embassy in Thailand. Ananda Marga was credited with the 1978 bombing outside the Hilton Hotel in Sydney, where Asian and Pacific leaders were holding a Commonwealth Conference.

Although Ananda Marga has ceased to carry out terrorist attacks, it continues to flourish as a religious movement. As a testimony to people's inability to think, and to their self-serving natures, Ananda Marga has become one of the best-known Hindu-based New Age religious movements in the West, with centers in over 160 countries. Membership remains highest in India and Germany.

- March 4, 1979: Rail service between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv was suspended following an explosion which led to a train being derailed. A second bomb was dismantled. A Palestinian Fatah spokesman claimed responsibility, saying that he was pleased to report that a number of Israelis had been killed or wounded.

- March 6, 1979: In Iraq, two engineers, one a Yugoslav and the other an Egyptian, were kidnapped and held hostage by Kurdish Islamic terrorists. A letter was delivered by the PDK (Democratic Kurdistan Party of Iraq) to the press in Tehran regarding their fate. The document stated: "they will be freed when the crimes of the Iraqi regime against the Kurds have been brought to light.".

- March 8, 1979: In Israel, Palestinian terrorists planted three bombs on Israeli tourist buses to protest President Carter's weekend Middle East peace mission. Twelve Israelis were wounded in the attack. The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, now a PLO subsidiary, claimed credit for mutilating the passengers.

The DFLP said orders had been issued to its jihadists "to step up the mujahideen operations against Israel to protest Carter's visit.".

On the same day, two time bombs planted at Tel Aviv's Plaza Hotel exploded. Much of the building was destroyed and an unknown number of people were wounded.

- March 9, 1979: In Turkey, a bomb was thrown onto the patio of the Ankara US officers' mess. Gunfire was heard and shell casings were found across the street.

- March 10, 1979: Israeli troops killed four Palestinian infiltrators in Tel Aviv. These Islamic terrorists were planning on taking hostages in Israel during President Carter's visit and using the people as bargaining chips. The jihadists carried explosives and other terror-related materials, in addition to leaflets indicating they intended to take hostages in a bid to force Israel to free convicted terrorists who were now serving sentences in Israeli prisoners.

- March 11, 1979: In Turkey, the only cocktail permitted in Islam, a Molotov cocktail, was thrown against the front of the American APO in Izmir. The same day, an American high school located in the same building was the target of rock throwing by angry jihadists.

- March 15, 1979: In Pakistan, a bomb was found in a washroom near the library in the American Consulate in Karachi.

- March 22, 1979: In the Netherlands, the British ambassador, Sir Richard Sykes, and his Dutch footman were shot to death just outside the ambassador's residence in The Hague in what sources there believe was a terrorist attack by the Irish Republican Army. Sykes, a security expert and an authority on IRA terrorism, had investigated attacks on British diplomats but had no bodyguard with him when gunned down by the two men who were described by police as "highly trained professionals" possibly linked to the Provisional/Catholic Wing of the IRA. In February 1980, the PIRA claimed that its activists were behind a string of other attacks in Western Europe, including the Sykes murder.

The IRA's history and nature is detailed in the August 27, 1973 entry to the Islamic Terrorism Timeline. You will also find them in the Islamic Clubs listing. While the IRA received its considerable stash of weapons from the Islamic OPEC regime in Libya, they were Catholics, not Muslims. They are important to our timeline only in that they are cited by the ignorant to suggest that Islam does not hold a virtual monopoly on terror.

- March 23, 1979: In Pakistan, a leader in the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), Muazzam Zaki, was shot and killed in his home in Islamabad. Pakistani PLO chief Yousuf Abu Hantash said that Mr. Zaki belonged to the political wing of the PLO (which if true would make him a leader of al-Fatah) and that came to Pakistan from Beirut to serve as a counselor.

A terror counselor, now there is something you don't see very often.

- March 25, 1979: The United States government postulated the myth that Communist Cuba and North Korea played a leading role in state-sponsored terrorism. Yet history shows that while these governments impoverished and harassed their citizens, they were relatively inactive when it came to terrorizing others. And in the case of Cuba, the communist regime was all too often the adversary of those perpetrating the terrorist assault.

Such was the example in New York today. A bomb in a flight bag about to be loaded aboard a Los Angeles-bound jet at Kennedy Airport exploded, injuring four baggage handlers. A caller to UPI (United Press International) claimed responsibility for the bomb at the airport plus bombs that damaged two New Jersey buildings populated by Cuban refugees. He said the bombings were the work of the anti-Castro terrorist group Omega 7, and that they were designed to protest tourist flights from the United States to Cuba. The caller said "they intended to blow up the plane without anyone in it." There were 157 passengers aboard and a crew of five at the time of the explosion.

The following day, the Almacen Pharmacy in Union City, New Jersey, a firm specializing in sending medicine to Cuba and which was bombed once before by Omega-7 in December 1977, was again bombed by the group. The anti-Communist terrorists announced that the bombings were the beginning of a campaign to attack businesses that dealt with Castro's Cuba.

- March 26, 1979: In Turkey, a grenade was thrown into the Israeli embassy in Ankara. The Turkish Revolutionaries claimed responsibility. They were protesting the signing of the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty.

- March 26, 1979: In Syria, a bomb explosion rocked the U.S. Embassy in Damascus on the eve of the signing of the peace accord between Egypt and Israel.

- March 27, 1979: In France, Islamic terrorists, calling themselves the Autonomous Intervention Collective Against the Zionist Presence in France and the Israeli Egyptian Peace, set off a bomb in a Jewish restaurant in Paris. They were protesting the peace treaty signing between Israel and Egypt. Thirty-two persons were wounded in the blast.

Since this was the only attack claimed on behalf of the AICAZPFIEP, we might reasonably assume that they were part of the PLO's BSO.

- March 27, 1979: A Jewish-owned perfume shop was bombed in Paris, apparently by terrorists as a result of the peace treaty signed between Israel and Egypt.

In that agreement, Israel was coerced into giving the Sinai, which it had controlled since it defeated Egypt in the 1967 Six Day War and 1974 Yom Kippur/Ramadan War back to Egypt for a "promise" by the Egyptians not to attack Israel again. Along with the gift of land, the United States promised to give Egypt $2.5 billion a year forever - money they have used to buy American weapons so that the next time they will be more successful. To add insult to injury, when George H.W. Bush wanted to make it appear like he had Islamic nations in his Desert Storm coalition to save the OPECing Emirs in Kuwait, he had the United States forgive $29.5 billion in Egyptian debt - a deficit that was perpetrated by the Islamic nation's overindulgence in weapons systems. Egypt has but one enemy.

Please contemplate what Jimmy Carter did for a moment. He bribed an Islamic nation with millions of acres of land and billions of dollars not to repeat what they had done trice before - attack a neighbor without provocation. So is the moral of the story: act badly repeatedly and you shall be rewarded? Or was the moral of this story: never trust a hypocrite? Jimmy Carter was propelled into office in the aftermath of Watergate based upon is holier than thou born-again Christian religious nature and yet his every act as president was counter to the instructions of the God in whom he professed faith - including rewarding Islam and equipping Israel's enemies. And as you shall soon see when we first detail the birth of al-Qaeda, Jimmy Carter was responsible for starting the first Afghanistan war and for being the first to equip the Islamic organization that perpetrated the 9/11/2001 attack that killed 3,000 Americans.

- March 27, 1979: In Bangladesh, fundamentalist Islamic Arabs stormed the Egyptian Embassy and held the ambassador hostage for several hours to protest the peace treaty signing between Israel and Egypt. From a good Muslim's perspective, the only good Jew is a dead one.

- March 27, 1979: In Israel, one Jew was killed and 14 more were wounded when a bomb exploded in downtown Jerusalem. It served a notice that Palestinian terrorist organizations like Fatah and the PLO were against the newly approved Egyptian-Israeli peace accord.

After the bomb blast rocked Zion Square, a spokesman for the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) claimed responsibility, stating the bombing was "within the framework of the escalation of our armed resistance to the Zionist occupation of our homeland." Mind you, the PLO was originally made up of Muslim Arabs from every Middle East nation except "Palestine" and they specifically stated in their opening remarks that the "Palestinians" were not to be given Gaza, which at the time was part of Egypt, or the West Bank, which was a the time part of Jordan.

- March 27, 1979: In Turkey, a bomb exploded in the entrance of a U.S. international communication agency associated with the Cultural Center in Ankara.

Two days later in Turkey, the private vehicle of a U.S. Consulate official was hit by five gun shots and a gasoline bomb while parked in the garage of his home in Istanbul.

- March 30, 1979: In Turkey, two bombs were deployed in the U.S. Chancery in Ankara.

- April 1, 1979: In Istanbul, Turkey, a bomb was placed in the El Al office.

- April 2, 1979: In Lebanon, three men fired two rocket-propelled grenades into the U.S. Embassy in Beirut. Palestinian terrorists had threatened to attack at American interests as a result of the signing of the Egyptian-Israeli treaty.

- April 4, 1979: In Australia, a hijacker wielding a bomb demanded to go to Moscow. For good measure, he held a knife to a woman's throat. She was critically wounded when police overpowered the terrorist as he made his way inside a Pan American jet at Sydney's Mascot Airport.

Police said the hijacker, identified as an Italian Dimiscus Sperantzo, later died from his wounds. He carried bombs on his body and held the knife in his hand in an attempt to gain passage to the Soviet Union via Singapore and Rome. An anti-hijack squad rescued the woman after her abductor snatched her from the customs hall of the airport terminal and forced her aboard the 747 jumbo jet bound for Los Angeles.

- April 4, 1979: Islamic terrorists in West Germany set off a bomb prematurely that exploded in the airmail distribution facility in Lufthansa Airlines' Frankfurt hub. Ten postal workers were injured. The bomb was placed in a mailbag bound for Israel.

- April 4, 1979: The former president of Pakistan, Zulfikar ‘ali Bhutto, was executed by the Pakistani government under the orders of the dictatorial President Zia. The Islamic terrorist group Al-Zulfikar, named after him, was founded by his two sons.

Zia's legacy haunts us today. He, more than anyone, perfected the art of state-sponsored terrorism. Zia's Pakistani ISI conceived, founded, financed, trained, armed, and managed some of the world's most lethal terrorist organizations, including but not limited to al-Qaeda and the Taliban. Today, Pakistan state-sponsored terrorists are substantially more active and lethal than Islamic terrorists sponsored by Syria, Iran, and Iraq combined.

- April 5, 1979: In Cyprus, a bomb exploded at the Israeli Embassy in Nicosia. The Ottoman Turks had poisoned the Island with Islam.

The same day, Muslims on Cyprus bombed the offices of a tour agency that represented Egypt's national airline, in Nicosia. These jihadists were not pleased with the peace accord.

- April 6, 1979: In Israel, Islamic terrorists bombed a crowd of people waiting at a bus stop in Jerusalem, injuring 13 civilians. The Muslims who perpetrated this bombing admitted that they were also responsible for bombing Israeli and Egyptian targets in Cyprus. The IED was hidden in a bag that was placed beside a bus that ran through both Arab and Jewish Jerusalem.

The stated reason for the hostility to the signing of the Israel-Egypt peace treaty, was that it did not provide for return of all Muslim lands held by Israel or the establishment of an independent Palestinian state carved out of Israel. Since the Muslim's only claim to Israel is their seventh century conquest, in which they were an unprovoked aggressor, why is Israel not entitled to the land it conquered defending itself?

- April 7, 1979: The homes of two men active in California's Catholic Croatian community were bombed. The pipe bombs caused extensive damage. Mario Forgiarini and Frank Striskovich who lived in the neighboring communities of Rossmoor and Cerritos, were officers in the leading Croatian support organization. Considering the fact that Catholic Croats had systematically murdered 800,000 Orthodox Christian Serbs and Jews less than forty years earlier, this hostility may be justified.

- April 7, 1979: In France, a time bomb was discovered at a Jewish cultural event.

- April 8, 1979: In Turkey, a bomb exploded in the Israeli consulate in Ankara.

- April 10, 1979: In Israel, a bomb deployed in the open-air Carmel market in Tel Aviv killed one Israeli and wounded 36 other Jews. The PLO said in a communiqué that it had been responsible for the blast.

In order to hold the PLO accountable, Israeli planes made reprisal attacks against targets at Damur, six miles south of Beirut and in the outskirts of Tyre, which resulted in many casualties among PLO members and supporters. One Palestinian said that at least three PLO members had been killed.

- April 13, 1979: Turkish terrorists firing from a speeding car killed one American soldier and critically wounded another in a suburb of Izmir. Both men were assigned to the NATO headquarters in Izmir.

- April 14, 1979: In Turkey, an IED detonated on a street in Diyarbakir, damaged a vehicle owned by a General Electric employee who was a U.S. citizen.

- April 15, 1979: Egyptian police arrested a Lebanese Muslim upon his arrival at Cairo airport and discovered that his suitcase contained explosives similar to those of a colleague who had been arrested a month prior. The Egyptians claimed that he was a first lieutenant in the Syrian intelligence service. They say Ali Samih Najm was to planning to bomb the Sheraton Hotel and At-Tahrir Square. Ali Najm's release was later demanded by terrorists who took over the Egyptian Embassy in Ankara, Turkey on July 13th, 1979.

- April 15, 1979: Four heavily armed Islamic Fatah terrorists infiltrating Israel from Jordan were killed by the IDF near the kibbutz Tirat Zir.

- April 16, 1979: A bomb planted by Islamic terrorists exploded on a bus minutes after a 13-year-old boy spotted the explosives-laden satchel and asked the driver to order his passengers off. The blast destroyed the bus but the PLO was thwarted in its attempt to kill.

- April 16, 1979: In Belgium, a Palestinian terror team tossed grenades into the Zaventem Airport lounge in Brussels in what became a botched attack on Israeli passengers. The jihadist assault left 12 people wounded.

Airport workers captured the four terrorists and turned them over to the Belgium authorities. It turns out the Islamic strike was premature because the El Al plane had not yet let its passengers disembark and enter the airport lounge where the submachine gun wielding terrorists had positioned themselves.

A previously unheard of Palestinian terrorist organization calling itself "Black March" claimed responsibility. The reference to Black March appears to indicate that the group was formed to oppose the March 26 signing of the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty. Two Palestinians, Hoseini Rad Mahoud, 3l, and Dayekh Khaled Dokh, 26, confessed that they intended to kill as many El Al passengers as possible. They were found guilty on August 16 of attempted murder and sentenced to eight years each.

- April 16, 1979: In Lebanon, an explosive charge was detonated at the U.S. International Communication Agency in Beirut.

- April 17, 1979: Israeli troops suffered casualties in a border clash with Palestinian terrorists following a firefight on the Israeli side of the Lebanese border. In El Salvador, eight members of the Communist FPL attacked police guarding the South African embassy. After seizing the rifles of the two slain policemen, the Marxist terrorists escaped in waiting cars. The same day, five bombs planted against the doors of the Costa Rican consulate in Santa Ana by the El Salvador's Popular Liberation Force exploded, causing considerable damage.

The People's Liberation Forces were among the first Salvadoran terrorist groups to emerge in central America. The PLF gained so much notoriety, they spurred the Communist Party of El Salvador to form additional terrorist groups, such as the Popular Forces of Liberation. It was created to begin a "prolonged popular war" that would eventually lead to a communist El Salvador.

FPL continued its terrorist actions throughout the 1970s. In 1980, they joined the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN), an umbrella terrorist organization encompassing the full cadre of Marxist groups. Frustrated by the fall of the Soviet Union, and by their own lack of success, in April 1983, FPL members killed their own leader, allegedly because of her perceived openness to government negotiations.
